Bp. de la Cruz installed Bishop of San Jose de Antique Exactly a year to the day he was appointed as Coadjutor
Bishop of the Diocese of San jose de Antique, Bishop Romulo T. de la Cruz was installed as its third Diocesan Bishop during ceremonies held at the Cathedral in San Jose de Buenavista.
He succeeds Bishop Raul Q. Martirez, whose resignation was accepted by the Holy Father on March 16, 2002.The simple rites on April 3 were highlighted by the symbolic
handing over by Bishop Martirez of his pastoral staff to the new Bishop of San Jose during a thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration. Present during the ceremonies were the Visayan
Bishops, namely Archbishop Angel Lagdameo of Jaro, Archbishop Onesimo Gordoncillo of Capiz, Bishop Arturo Bastes of Romblon, and Bishop Jose Advincula of San Carlos,
Negros Occidental, members of the clergy, religiuos and laity from all over the diocese.
